Default 1977 Jetster rescue

Here is a 16ft. 1977 jetster I rescued out of the woods. It hasn't seen water in 22yrs.This boat was a high school classmates. He parked it,went to Alaska in 1988,and never came back. Before leaving this boat to die,the boat had totally been gone through, new interior, new paint, rebuilt 350 olds motor, rebuilt jacuzzi golden eagle jet. This boats hull# is sequencial to the other jetster I own.So I have twin sisters.I cleaned the boat up and stuck it in a garage.Someday maybe it will live to fly around the lake again.

I looked at a 54 Corvette that had been setting about that long. No top, full of leaves and what not. Frozen motor and who knew what else but it was only $500.00 and I still past.

I would imagine that after 22 years in the woods that most everything that isn't fiberglass is gonna need to be replaced.

Good luck on getting it back in working order.

That is quite the first pic ! So, both of your boats are 16SS's, I wonder if Jetster ever made an 18SS...

That was some 30 years ago in Layton, Utah. A friend did buy it and we spend a summer stripping the body of SS trim parts and the paint. Moved away and never found out if he completed it or not.

AAt the same time I ran across a 1956 Ford T-Bird, Turquoise and Cream with Port Hole hard top for $2700.00 and like a fool I bought a 1970 Chevelle for the same money

If you had critters that made a home under that tarp for the last ten years. Then I would say that's a ten on the rescue scale. Pull back that tarp and let us see that SBC.

Heres a pic of the 350 olds engine, and one of the jet.I haven't done any investigating on the condition of the motor or jet.I purchased this boat for parts, should my other Jetster need a part in the future.
